Neuroplasticity at work: my brain finished some post-concussion rewiring yesterday, seemingly leaving me with greatly enhanced visual scanning, see my April 23 entry. This is the 2nd new skill I have accrued from the concussion, the first being the pain banishment skill discussed on in my April 10 notes. Actually, there is a 3rd: increased awareness (physical and mental), which I think derives from the executive control centers of the brain being suppressed (damaged and healing) for several weeks.
My concussion aka mTBI = Mild Traumatic Brain Injury convalescence I now deem over, which is not to say effects won’t linger for a good many months according to those who have written me and suffered an mTBI.
I am now on day 38 since the crash. I cannot know in advance of any impairments yet to emerge. For example, I am leery of doing the Devil Mountain Double this Saturday, as I do not know if my brain can tolerate a 14-15 hour effort, and do so safely (attention to road conditions). Also, my brain seems to be much more sensitive to low blood glucose than pre-concussion.

Offer expires April 30, 2018. [UPDATE 4 May: OFFER EXPIRED]
I adhere strictly to core philosophical principles. One derivative principle is value for value e.g., I do not expect something for nothing.
Accordingly, any subscriber who wants their subscription(s) extended by the duration of my “absence” need only ask. I am happy to do this, and I mean what I say, because anything else would be a violation of my values.
Extension duration: 40 days. Subject of email should be: “request for subscription extension”.

As an aside, I’ve added two observations to my concussion timeline, one on April 11, and an addendum on March 22. Somehow I forgot them before, but they are interesting I think.
