Here the Zeiss Batis 40mm f/2 CF is put to the test from f/2 through f/8.
The extremely demanding series reveals every flaw in a Zeiss Otus or any top-grade lens as I found when also shooting it with several Otii. Exacting focus is required (accomplished) and this shows behaviors like mild field curvature that would be difficult to detect in most scenes. As well, the extremely fine detail in the subject matter reveals just how sharp the lens is from center to corners.
Includes images up to full camera resolution from f/2 through f/8.
