I would love to see the 35mm Nikkor Z compared to the Zeiss 35mm f/2 Loxia. Obviously the different sensors would play a role, but these are two real competitors in terms of a lightweight landscape kit. Wide open wouldn't matter much, but f/5.6 - f/9 would be apertures of interest.
DIGLLOYD: that’s a bit tricky since the Zeiss Loxia 35mm f/2 has significant field curvature, and the Nikon NIKKOR Z 35/1.8 has its focus shift and some field curvature and seems weak on the left side as shown in the various series. Therefore I agree that the f/5.6 to f/11 range is most relevant. I would also point readers at the Zeiss Batis 40mm f/2 CF as a strong contender.
I had also thought of keeping the lens as a constant, e.g., a Zeiss Otus or similar in order to compare the image quality more directly. My impression is that the Nikon Z7 makes better images, but that could be erroneous.
I’m pretty much toast at this point after 3+ weeks working out of my van, and I am not very mobile due to an injured knee, but I should be able to shoot something before returning home.
