Wild Burros Crossing Playa
I saw three small herds of wild burros this day, one crossing the playa east of Trona near the Ballarat historic landmark, and two more herds in the hills. Herds seem to be small—5 to 10 animals, and the animals themselves are quite small relative to horses or donkeys. They also can be heard braying quite loudly in the hills from time to time.
Travelers tip: heavy rains last night east of Trona and now very heavy steady rain in Alabama Hills here at 10 PM on the 10th of March.
