...money recently...I’m looking at putting it into something I have desired since its release - the Fujifilm GFX100 plus several lenses.
Has Fujifilm addressed (via updates) the focus issues (and other bugs) you identified mid 2019? Would you recommend - I’m primarily into landscape and portraiture?
As far as I can assess the Fujifilm is still the best medium format option out there right now.
DIGLLOYD: I found little to fault in April 2020 versus my 2019 work. Since it seems hard to believe that I just got lucky in not having issues for a month, I conclude that Fujifilm has fixed the key issues, or most of them. There could be a few things remaining that I just didn’t encounter due to usage patterns, but I was quite happy with the GFX100 this go-round.
Thanks everyone for buying via my B&H links if you can as it matters to me a lot.
Regarding Fujifilm medium format, bookmarking my Fujifilm medium format wishlist page is a super handy to monitor pricing. Fujfilm lens rebates regularly go to $500 or more per lens, and in one glance you can see the status (updated every day). Hold off on any lenses but the 50mm for now—the other ones almost certainly will be discounted $500 off or more.
BTW, the 50mm is fantastic, at least the sample I got for testing (and bought, in spite of not owning a camera for it, yet!). Check all lenses carefully for lens skew issues. A good sample of the 50/3.5 blows away the zooms in its range and it is joy as far as size/weight.
