This series from f/2.8 to f/11 shows how the rearward focus shift of the Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM at 24mm should be taken into account when choosing focus position for close subjects.
The lesson here is “know your lens behavior”. Doing so means that focus can be tweaked for total sharpness that is much better placed over the desired region.
