Leica M11 ISO Series 64 to 50000, 18MP S-DNG vs 60MP L-DNG

Other than file size, is there any point to S-DNG, or are you just throwing away image quality?

Following up on the 36MP M-DNG comparison, this page looks at noise from ISO 64 to ISO 50K, comparing 60MP L-DNG against 18MP S-DNG (downsampling the 60MP to match).

ISOS 64, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400, 12500, 25000, 50000 are shown, both with and without chroma noise reduction.

Additionally, the separate red/green/blue color channels plus grayscale are also shown, again with and without chroma noise reduction. It’s important to see how good the individual channels are looking, especially for those looking to do high-ISO monochrome conversions.
