This aperture series from f/2 through f/16 evaluates the Voigtlander VM 50mm f/2 APO-Lanthar Aspherical on the 60-megapixel Leica M11 for performance medium range, using a subject through which can easily be seen the 'slice' of the zone of sharpness.

A moderately strong forward focus shift is discussed, which also explains the sharpness puzzle in Bare Branches Riparian Tree.

Images up to full resolution from f/2 to f/16 (including a size match for the 41MP Leica M10-R), plus crops.

I couldn’t ask for much more on any camera or lens at 50mm. The CV 50/2 APO is an incredible value for Leica M11 shooters.
