Apple Mac Studio with M1 Ultra Looks to Offer Thrilling Performance

The new Apple Mac Studio , a sort of Mac mini on steroids, offers computing power to serve all but the most extreme uses and users*.
* An understatement: the Mac Studio with the Apple M1 Ultra (dual M1 Max chips) should be so powerful that nothing can touch it Mac or PC—I will be reviewing and confirming that. Prediction: unprecedented performance. Quad M1 Max chips in a Max Pro are apparently coming next year.

It is unlikely that even the most souped-up Intel-based Mac or PC can even touch the 20-core CPU of the M1 Ultra. Or its 48/64 core GPU short of some super high end video card costs $3K or more.
And the 20-core Apple M1 Ultra is here now, not 2024 or 2025. Intel has its work cut out for it.
Since the 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Max with its 10-core CPU eclipsed my 2019 iMac 5K and beat my 28-core $19K 2019 Mac Pro at most things, the 20-core M1 Ultra CPU surely leaves all competing Intel-based computers (Mac or Windows) far behind in the dust.
It’s an exciting prospect for things like focus stacking—check out how the 10-core M1 Max does on focus stacking. So 20 cores... wow!
