SHOOTOUT @ 21mm: Hasselblad X2D vs Sony A1: Windswept Bristlecone Pine

re: Hasselblad X2D and Hasselblad XCD 21mm f/4
re: Sony A1 and Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM

Hasselblad X2D

A few months ago, I compared the Sony A1 and Nikon D850 and Leica SL2 and Leica M11 to the Fujifilm GFX100S, with interesting results.

The Fujifilm GFX100S has an identical size sensor to the Hasselblad X2D...

This shootout pits the Hasselblad X2D + Hasselblad XCD 21mm f/4* prime lens against the Sony A1 + Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM zoom. Since the Sony zoom is as good or better than all other wide angle primes or zooms on any 35mm camera that I have yet used (Nov 2022), it’s a fair fight.

What level of detail does 100MP yield over 50MP, and does that hold up to the outer zones and for depth of field?
