Which High Capacity Hard Drive for Photos/Video? Best Value/Performance?
Consult with Lloyd to design a storage and/or backup system and/or high performance workflow.
If your data grows as large as mine (nearly 20TB), then SSDs are not a viable option for backup for all your stuff, neither in cost or capacity. You’ll need big hard drives.
And because hard drives slow down as capacity is used, always buy 25% more capacity than anticipated ~3 years out from today. This principle is well demonstrated in my review, below.
Your best way to house these hard drives is in the OWC Thunderbay 4 or OWC Thunderbay 8 or as standalone drives in the OWC Mercury Elite Pro single-drive enclosure.
