20-megapixel Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II
Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 8-18mm f/2.8-4 ASPH

Examples: Trona / Panamint Area

Shot just northeast of Trona (follow the highway from Ridgecrest, CA to Trona and onwards towards the Panamint range near Death Valley).

Examples were shot handheld with image stabilization; a storm was moving through and using a tripod was out of the question.

Nearly all examples are presented in both color and black and white. The combination of the Olympus E-M1 Mark II sensor and the Panasonic 8-18mm produces images which while not as sharp as I’d like at the periphery, have terrific contrast for a strong visual impact—ideal for black and white conversions—toggle to see either/or.

Images presented up to full camera resolution. This allows all the lens sharpness limitations can be seen. Retina or HiDPI display users might zoom in a little if configured for 2:1 but even so, many images are visibly weak in outer zones even at very high pixel density.
