Where is Aperture Priority?
Any camera can be configured to greatly improve the as-shipped setup. And the Fuji X-E1 once understood and configured makes a fine-shooting camera for aperture priority and manual shooting, but one has to understand it first, and here the X-E1 caused me a frustrating time in first usage and in making any careful comparison.
I already had ample experience with its X-Pro1 sibling, which I found confounding after some months of not using it, a data point taking on greater significance with the X-E1 in light of my initial difficulty in finding how to use aperture priority— in a fruitless effort, I spent 10 minutes going through all the XE-1 menus, pressing all the buttons in vain to find Aperture Priority. I was feeling pretty darn frustrated at this point.
