Light levels were very low here, to the point of marginal visibility even to the naked eye—late dusk. With ISO on auto, it’s not clear what the camera did for exposure (ISO), but it seems that a very high ISO was needed.

The image is rather grainy at 4K, with fine details well mangled. But as a video it remains acceptable. What piqued your author’s interest was whether the 1080p version downsampled from 4K would show the downsampling benefits one expects for still images. Indeed, this is the case, as the 1080p video clip (4K half-res) shows a quality that while not great is not that bad and probably quite acceptable given the very dim lighting.
