This very high contrast scene used substantial contrast control to tame the contrast, which ranges from dark shadowed areas in the foreground to brilliant white in the clouds.

Sony SteadyShot disabled, all lens corrections disabled in the A7S II except chromatic correction. Uncompressed raw format. No filtration.
The RawDigger info shows a perfect ETTR exposure, with the green channel bumping up right against the maximum value. The camera has done an outstanding job of capturing the full dynamic range, with an ultra-clean file that has held up superbly to the major contrast control. It is a very high quality result limited only by the relatively low 12-megapixel sensor resolution (and its Bayer matrix nature).
