The Loxia 35/2 has a delicacy of rendition at f/2 that can be attractive under the right conditions.

Wide open, the entire image has an overall low contrast haziness but in this scene it lends a certain delicacy to the image which is quite attractive, showing that contrast and sharpness are not everything. Images processed to preserve the delicate tones, which too much contrast would destroy. The original scene was still and quiet (and cold), and had that delicate feel to it. Thus at least to your author, this image is highly successful.
