Aperture Series: Streamside Tetrahedron Boulder Amid Brush

This series looks at total visual impact in a 3D scene with blurred foreground and background subject matter surrounding a primary subject.

How does the lens call out the desired subject from its surroundings, how does it succeed at making an attention-getting image? Sharpness and contrast together with bokeh that does not unduly distract is a winning combination.

Adobe Camera Raw 9.2 (486) ACR Settings, Camera Profile = Adobe Standard. All camera and lens corrections DISABLED both in camera and during RAW conversion.

Note that Canon may in fact silently tweak brightness at wider aperture regardless of camera settings, and for raw files. See Image Brightness at Full Aperture vs Stopped Down as well as Lens Brightness: Camera Makes an Adjustment?.
