This scene is at far distance for a look at across the frame sharpness and field curvature at 70mm.
The long end of most wide and mid-range zooms is often the weakest area, so how does the 24-70 perform at 70mm on this demanding finely-detailed scene at distance?

Scene contrast is low, but the sun isn’t seen here most of the day (it is nearly noon!). It’s tough lighting, flat lighting, but the scene detail is excellent and flat lighting is a challenge that a lens has to deliver on.
