Nikon D800

Examples — D800E — Initial Evaluation

The examples on this page were chosen to show behavior of the D800E in terms of sharpness and aliasing/moiré.

The goal is not to show lens performance, but rather to show the best that the camera offers for any given scene and/or oddities it shows.

Image converted from 14-bit Lossless Compressed NEF into 16-bit TIF in Photoshop CS5 using Adobe Camera RAW Camera Raw 6.7 (339), sharpened the usual way.

Be sure to use a colorspace-aware web browser to view the examples. Examples presented in the AdobeRGB color space, because some images go “flat” in the limited-gamut sRGB color space; the D800 has a wide gamut.
