Nikon D800

LENS: D800 + PC-E Micro Nikkor 45mm f/2.8D ED

The reader is strongly advised to read the lens evaluation notes.

See the DAP reviews of tilt/shift lense (search for “PC-E” on the index page).

The PC-E Micro Nikkor 45/2.8D ED offers a tilt function, which is one way to evade the effects of diffraction, by reducing the need to stop down when a cooperatively-shaped subject presents itself (e.g., one not plane parallel to the sensor but having its own semi-planar shape along which tilt can be aimed).

The shift function allows perspective correction, which is the other reason to consider a tilt/shift lens.
