The 14-24 is sharp even wide open at f/2.8, but contrast is really enhance at f/4, then again at f/5.6.

The 16-35 is somewhat soft at f/4 and f/5.6, and no match for the 14-24 even at f/8, needing f/11 to clean up, yet still not matching the 14-24.

The 17-35 is completely blurred at f/2.8 (probably due to field curvature), and needs f/16 to yield reasonable detail.
