Overview/Comparison of Resolving Power with Pixel Shift
This page looks at resolving power with pixel shift. It is my view that something is not well done with Sony mirrorless pixel shift, but the Pentax implementation is superb.

Shot in pixel shift mode at f/11 (which diminishes micro contrast, from diffraction). The texture in this image reminds me strongly of the Sigma DP Merrill cameras, only with vastly lower noise and much superior color. The Pentax HD FA 50mm f/1.4 SDM AW is a superb optic, which helps greatly.
