This scene was chosen to evaluate sharpness in a landscape scene in which there is a typical range of very near to quite far detail.
The field curvature of the Sigma 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art is a critical factor to understand when shooting a scene like this in order to optimize sharpness. By placing the curved zone of focus to best intersect the subject matter, considerably higher sharpness can be obtained overall than with a casual or conventional choice of focus.
