Nikon D810
Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

Aperture Series: Huge Barn Interior (Nikon D810)

This scene examines the Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art using focus that was intentionally placed at a medium distance, leaving both the background and foreground slightly out of focus, thus eliminating any doubt as to peak imaging performance wide open, and showing the zone of sharpness across the frame and near to far. The scene is excellent for assessing field curvature, the point spread function, and chromatic aberrations.

The limits of the Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art on a 36-megapixel sensor (Nikon D810), are clearly shown here. As a practical benefit, the scene reveals just how much stopping down for image quality is warranted for this kind of scene (depth of field requirements aside).
