These examples of Mt Whitney are of a series from pre-sunrise to post-sunrise using the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports. Conclusions follow.

Presented at up to full camera resolution (up to 240 megapixels size for panoramas).

These images are arranged in chronological order, which is fun as it shows the progression of lighting from before to after sunrise.

First light on Mt Whitney Range from Alabama Hills @ 135mm

This 10-frame panorama was shot at f/8 which deals with the soft edge of the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sport. Once assembled as a pano, it works just fine.
