Leica 35mm f/1.4 Summilux-M ASPH

Examples: Leica 35mm f/1.4 Summilux-M ASPH (Yosemite)

The quiet side of Yosemite. This page explores the quiet foresty feel of Yosemite (mostly).

These examples were taken with Leica 35mm f/1.4 Summilux-M ASPH (new 2010 version). Some images were taken at ISO 80 by mistake— nothing to read into that fact other than user error (a higher shutter speed would have been preferable).

I found myself very challenged in getting the magenta/green color balance right on some of these images, and I don’t know why (Adobe Photoshop CS5).

Please ALSO note that the sRGB color space badly pins the blue channel in some photos, which shifts the color substantially. Even AdobeRGB is a problem. For the M9, the color gamut really must be a wide-gamut 16-bit space in order to capture color correctly. Nonetheless, I have chosen to present most images in sRGB because most are within reasonable tolerances.
