Examples: 501.4 Summilux-M (Variety)
The images here were taken purely for exploratory reasons: to explore the imaging performance. A rental lens was used, and I liked the 50/1.4 Summilux so much after I explored it that I put myself on the one-year-long waiting list to get one.
I shot with the following intent:
- Test my ability to focus the 50/1.4 accurately;
- Get a sense of the bokeh (blur);
- Spot imaging idiosyncracies or weaknesses;
Apertures on this page marked with a ~ character are “best guess” from memory and the camera’s recorded guess— the M9 does not and cannot know the aperture at which the exposure is made. The notation ~f/8 means “f/8 or thereabouts”. When that notation is missing the '~', it means the exact aperture actually used.
