The change in field illumination is all but done by f/2.8. All that remains is the natural vignetting governed by optical laws for this kind of lens construction.
From f/2.8 to f/5.6, there is no change except in the extreme corners; f/2.8 has eliminated all but a faint trace of optical vignetting in the extreme corners, with only natural vignetting remaining (cos^4 law, reflection of the sensor, distance/angle).
