The 50mm f/2 APO Summicron-M ASPH (about $7195) has an MTF chart which suggests that it offers the highest performance of any publicly available 50mm lens ever made for any 35mm-format camera. Surely it is a fitting lens for a future 36-megapixel or higher resolution M camera.
A 50mm lens with these specs for Leica M has been a dream of mine for quite some time— it looks like Leica has gone all-out with the new 50/2.
