Aperture Series: Pescadero Creek Redwoods (Sony A7R)
The Sony A7R is a 36-megapixel mirrorless camera with a full-frame sensor incorporating micro lenses, which might be hoped to allay the ray angle issues that lead to color shading and excessive vignetting and loss of off-center sharpness.
This distance scene was chose to show definitively whether the 75mm f/2 APO-Summicron-M performance is solid on the Sony A7R sensor. The Novoflex Leica M to Sony NEX lens adapter was used. This intent here is to document the camera-specific lens behavior. Accordingly, the vignetting and color shading and contrast and highlights have not been adjusted for the series, though they are ripe for such adjustment, and one adjusted f/11 frame is included.
