Distortion is a wave type commonly seen in wide angle designs: barrel distortion approaching the long edge (bowing out) then inflecting to pincushion distortion into the corners (bowing in).
The maximum distortion is tightly controlled at about 0.5%, which is impressively low for an f/1.4 design, and considerably lower than the Leica 35mm f/1.4 Summilux-M ASPH, which has triple the distortion at ~1.5% (also wave-type).
