Leica M Monochrom

Leica MM vs Nikon D800E (Dolls, Upsampled)

This page continues the story from the previous comparison page, where the D800E image was converted to grayscale and then downsampled to match the resolution of the Leica M Monochrom. This did not allow it to show its full potential.

Upsampling approach

To avoid a bias of not resampling the D800E, both images were upsampled to ~9000 pixels wide, taking into account also the slight 1.3% difference in magnification, the Zeiss 50/2 being at a slightly wider/shorter focal length. This resulted in a perfect size match.
