The two cameras differ in spatial resolution by a good amount:

M240: 5976 X 3992 (23.86 MP, full-frame Bayer sensor, +27% spatial resolution)
DP2M: 4704 X 3136 (14.75 MP, DX Foveon X3 true-color sensor)

Matching image size

The Sigma DP2M has a 45mm (equiv) lens; the M240 used the Leica 50mm f/2 APO-Summicron-M ASPH, making for a different field of view by about 10%.
