Notes: 50/2 Summicron-M
The Leica 50mm f/2 Summicron-M offers outstanding image quality in a very compact package with ultra-low distortion and some of the best ergonomics in the M lens line.
Some users will prefer the idea of a single reasonably-fast lens— the 50mm f/1.4 Summilux-M ASPH, but an alternative scenario is to own both the 50/0.95 Noctilux and the 50/2 Summicron— use the Noctilux for its unbeatable blur qualities, and the 50/2 to travel light, such as when hiking or backpacking, etc. Or when vignetting is desirable at f/2.
However, the 50mm f/2 Summicron-M has some focus shift, and so as a practical matter it needs some thoughtful focusing in order to achieve peak quality.
