90/2 APO vs 100/2.8 APO-Macro: Barcroft Blue Building (M240)

Shot on the 24-megapixel Leica M Typ 240.

The goal is to get some idea of the relative merit of the 90/2 APO ASPH versus the 100/2.8 APO macro for distance shooting.

An attempt was made here to match reproduction size of the 90mm and 100mm focal lengths by moving back, so as to yield a basis for comparing the relative optical performance. Regrettably, camera leveling was off (the M240 was not very helpful here), but working with a small tripod is always problematic in matching such things (hey, at 13,000' cycling up, the big heavy one isn’t going along!). However, the value remains in the comparison nonetheless.
