Introduction: 90/2 APO-Summicron-R ASPH
Applicability:
- Quickly and easily mounts on Canon DSLRs with a lens adapter.
- Can be converted to Nikon mount via Leitax.com.
The Leica 90mm f/2 APO Summicron-R ASPH has been discontinued (like all Leica R lenses), but is available on the used market.
I converted my 90/2 APO/ASPH to Nikon F mount using a Leitax adapter, but found that it could not focus beyond about 30' (10 meters). While Leitax says it can provide an adapter that will work, this requires some precision measurements. I reversed the modification and use it on Canon bodies with a lens adapter, though I might try the conversion again sometime with a modified adapter.
