Mitigating Vibration Caused by the M240 Shutter

The shutter in the Leica M Typ 240 itself causes enough vibration that special care is needed. There is no true solution (only mitigation), and yet Leica could make some operational changes to improve the odds.
Loss of image sharpness in a certain shutter speed range was observed in virtually every sequence in the field with 180mm and 280mm lenses, regardless of which tripod was used (small or large), and whether a lens tripod foot was used versus the tripod foot on the R-adapter M. It’s harder to assess shorter forcal lengths, but if the setup is not rock solid, issues might be seen down to 90mm.
