These examples show distortion-corrected vs uncorrected images for the Fujifilm GF 50mm f/3.5 R LM WR.

Using disortion correction is usually unwarranted, because the 50/3.5 has a very low level of barrel distortion. For just about everything* it can be ignored and should not be corrected, because there is a suble loss of micro contrast that occurs when distortion correction is used, which affects most of the frame.

Retina display users will have a difficult time seeing the differences due to too-high pixel density. Ideally, view on a display with no greater than 110 ppi. However, the differences can be seen by enlarging the crops to 100% (which on a Retina Display at 2:1 really means 200%).
