Fujifilm GF 55/1.7: Focus Breathing
Focus breathing refers to the change in magnification as the focusing distance changes. Such changes are highly undesirable for video usage, and terrible for focus stacking.
Example: Picnic Table
The Fujifilm GF 55mm f/1.7 shows a ridiculous amount of focus breathing which results in a substantial loss of field of view in the stacked image. It also means a reduction in sharpness, because the stacking software must stretch pixels to match-up across frames much more than would otherwise be needed. The whole thing is ridiculous.
