Adapting Lenses to the GFX: Zeiss Milvus 50mm f/2M

The Zeiss Milvus 50mm f/2M was one of the easiest lenses to focus in magnified Live View on the Fujifilm GFX, having a reasonably clear image image at f/2. Which is not to say it was easy; the GFX Live View is soft at best with all lenses (even native lenses) in terms of decisive focusing—the Hasselblad X1D magnified Live View focusing is far superior in spite of having a lower-res LCD. The Zeiss Milvus 50mm f/2M covers most of the Fujifilm GFX frame (all of the frame at closer focusing range) with performance on a DSLR that is nearly the equal of the Zeiss Otus 55mm f/1.4 APO-Distagon by f/4 or so (on a DSLR). Indeed, on the Nikon D810 or on Canon it delivers one of the finest performances available in a 35mm format lens, at least over most of the frame.
