Because of extensive shutter modes, the Fujifilm GFX holds promise for adapting just about any lens from any format. The first thing that comes to mind is adapting lenses for the 36 X 24mm format (“35mm format”) which includes DSLR lenses from Nikon, Canon, Zeiss, Sigma, Leica others.
The term sensor as used in the context of adapting lenses should be taken to mean in combination all of the following:
- The sensor itself including the unusual micro lens arrangement (responsible for very high native lens sharpness but also severe moiré ).
- The sensor filter plate (“cover glass”) thickness and refraction characteristics.
- The ray angle to the the sensor, particularly the areas near and beyond the area of the 36 X 24mm area for which 35mm format lenses are designed.
