Fujifilm GFX100: Image Stabilization (IBIS) Destroys or Damages Images on Tripod

This page discusses how forgetting to turn off image stabilization (IBIS) when working on a tripod can destroy image sharpness. I take a dim view of a camera that needlessly destroys my work.

Earlier in the day during some windy conditions, I tried using image stabilization (IBIS) on a tripod t relatively high shutter speeds (1/40 sec or so) in hopes of getting better results. While some images did seem better I also found that some were worse and none sharp—results so inconsistent that it was hard to tell if it were the wind or the IBIS blurring things. In the end I concluded that Fujifilm IBIS on a tripod is at best dubious and often a disaster—better to handhold.
