Fujifilm GFX100S Focus BKT 'Auto' Mode: Usage and Example
This page discusses field experience using Fujifilm GFX100S FOCUS BKT = Auto feature.
The feature has an mode which allows the user to select a near focus point and a far focus point. The camera then decides how many frames to take to capture the stack, based on the working aperture and those two points.
It all sounds good, but after an hour of trying to make sense of its user interface (and after reading the manual), I wanted to smash the camera to bits on the rocks—it is incredibly confusing to use. And that’s after using it quite a few times previously. It also erases settings arbitrarily when re-entering the setup! It’s not just me—I showed another very experienced photographer, who concluded it was such a disaster that he might well not use it.
