4-Frame Focus Stack (Frosty Table)

Focus stacking is all but a necessity for high quality using medium format over a significant near-to-far subject, due to depth of field requirements.

For this particular scene, not even f/16 could have captured more than half the table sharply, and that would have degraded everything badly by diffraction, the fine frost being crucial to render with high micro contrast.

This 4-frame focus stack was shot at f/11 and then assembled with Zerene Stacker. A great deal of touchup was needed in spite of perfect technical execution.
