Aperture Series: Mosaic

This far-distance subject is one of the most demanding of all because it is planar (flat) and with very fine detail. Any lens deviation such as symmetry or field curvature pops out instantly as a flaw.

The camera was tilted mildly slightly upward, so that wide open this could have minor influences on sharpness at top and bottom.

Distortion is very low—excellent, since many 35mm (equiv) lenses for the 35mm format have significant distortion. Vignetting is moderate wide open at f/3.5 with only lingering traces at f/5.6.
