Leica S2

Examples: Golden Gate Bridge

Commentary on this page is from 2010.

These examples all shot at dusk at the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge.

There was a fierce wind blowing, strong enough to throw buffet my body around. And so fierce that using a tripod was not necessarily better, so until it become too dark, I shot handheld.

Focus: The S2 has some difficult focusing at dusk, and also is quite slow. Its central focusing point is also very limiting in terms of what to focus on. I observed front-focus in several cases, as well as complete failure in others. But by and large it was accurate and reasonable most of the time.

Handheld: The term “handheld” on this page means that it was handheld, but with mirror lockup, see Tips.
