Anti-design in the IQ4 — unwanted, unnoticed changes due to button design that damage images
Set aside the stunning amount of make-work chimping for basic operations due to ill-conceived operational design: it’s problematic enough that entering Live View does not raise the mirror, or that the camera won’t return to Live View in many cases, including not doing so with a light press of the shutter. And many more modal make-work ill-conceived behaviors. But those things don’t go damage images.
What follows is not exaggerated or unduly harsh, if anything it is too kind: damaging images by bad camera design can not only lose a client, it can lose a career if the wrong thing is screwed up. I do not idly suffer ill-conceived design that degrades my images or outright makes me miss the shot. Both of which the IQ4 did every single day I used it. Over time I learned to avoid certain things, to double check settings, etc—but it is ridiculous to have to do that.
