Early Winter at Lundy Canyon Campground

This example shows the fairly strong peripheral forward field curvature of the Schneider Kreuznach LS 35mm f/3.5. Observing the effect in magnified Live View, I focused in the far distance (bare aspen) and stopped down to f/9. That is still inadequate to sharpen the outer zones of the mountain farther in the distance, just as seen in Before the Kiss of Sunrise. The solution can only be a compromise: focus even farther away for the mountains and give up the foreground, or balane the focus as here so that sharpness extends nearly to the camera. As shot here, this is probably the best overall balance.
