Aperture Series @ 14mm: Big Laurel at Bend in Alpine Creek
This series from f/4 to f/11 with the Canon RF 14-35mm f/4L IS USM shows overall performance, but mainly the disappointing outer-zone sharpness that comes from the need to correct excessive distortion.
See the same scene with the Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8L. I had shot both together as a comparison, but in spite of trying on two different days, it proved impossible to get a satisfactory match. Distortion differences (substantial), field curvature, focus shift all make it hard to compare the two on a scene like this.
Includes images from f/4 to f/11 up to full camera resolution, plus crops.
