A lens can deliver credible results on a 3D scene as in Big Laurel at Bend in Alpine Creek. But apply it to a distance scene where everything must be sharp across the frame, and all its dirty laundry is revealed. Few lenses can capture a scene like this without revealing at least one significant weakness.
This series from f/2.8 to f/5.6 reveals a problematic weaknesses in the sharpness across the field of the Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM at 16mm.
